Job summary

Stantec is seeking a transportation Structural Engineer with 10+ years of experience in design of highway, transit, and rail bridges in California. Opportunity to work across multiple CA locations including Los Angeles, SF, Walnut Creek, Roseville, and Fresno. Role is full-time with potential part-time options.

Involves design, analysis, and coordination with senior engineers on infrastructure projects. Candidate should be a licensed California PE with expertise in bridge design, Caltrans

Qualifications

• Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of California.
• Proficiency in steel, masonry, timber and concrete design incl. precast and prestressed.
• Proficiency in Structural Analysis with SAP 2000, CsiBridge, Midas or similar software.
• Strong background preparing bridge design calculations and plans per Caltrans Standards.
• Thorough understanding of design codes and agency standards such as AASHTO, Caltrans, AREMA, and CBC.
• Previous experience on California High Speed Rail Projects is a plus.
• Attention to detail and leadership in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of structural engineering for transportation structures.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, and details for transportation projects.
• Design new structures and rehabilitation of existing ones.
• Review shop drawings, calculations, coordinate with design team, and address site issues.
• Coordinate with clients including public agencies and private clients.
• Collaborate with other structural staff to complete projects.
