Job summary

Stantec is seeking a transportation Structural Engineer in California with a minimum of 10 years of experience in design of highway, transit and rail bridges. The successful candidate will assist senior engineers in performing analysis, designing, contract drawings, and specifications for infrastructure projects.

Possible locations in California include Roseville, Fresno, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, and Los Angeles. This full-time role may consider part-time as well.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in design of new transportation structures such as highway, transit and rail bridges.
• Experience with inspection and rehabilitation of existing structures is a plus.
• Assist senior engineers in performing analysis, developing designs, contract drawings, and specifications for various infrastructure and transportation related projects.

Responsibilities

• Uses knowledge of relevant structural engineering of transportation structures.
• Preparing design calculations, drawings, and details for various transportation projects.
• Design of new structures and rehabilitation of existing structures.
• Review of shop drawings produced by fabricators and detailers, calculations performed by other engineers, coordinate with design team, site visits to address site issues and verify existing conditions, respond to request for information, oversee testing and monitoring programs.
• Assist with client coordination including coordinating deliveries, submittals, meeting, review comments etc. Clients include public agencies and private clients.
• Working with other structural staff and departments to complete projects.
