Job summary

Stantec is seeking a transportation Supervising Structural Engineer with a minimum of 20 years of experience in the design of highway, transit and rail bridges. The successful candidate will supervise senior engineers, develop designs, contract drawings and specifications for infrastructure projects.

This full-time role requires California PE licensure; proficiency in SAP2000, CSI Bridge and Caltrans standards, and experience in seismic design.

Qualifications

• 20 years of experience in structural design for bridges and infrastructure, with Caltrans experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in California.
• Experience with design of transportation structures (highway, transit, rail).
• Experience with inspection/rehabilitation is a plus.
• Knowledge of design codes and agency standards (AASHTO, Caltrans, AREMA, CBC).

Responsibilities

• Lead design calculations, drawings, and details for transportation projects.
• Oversee shop drawings, calculations, and coordination with design team; site visits as needed.
• Supervise and mentor junior structural staff; coordinate with other design departments.
• Serve as Engineer of Record on complex designs; lead client coordination and project deliveries.
