Job summary

Stantec is seeking a transportation Structural Engineer with at least 10 years of experience in design of highway, transit and rail bridges. California licensure required, with potential locations in Roseville, Fresno, San Francisco, Walnut Creek and LA.

This is a full-time role in our transportation team, with possible part-time consideration. The successful candidate will assist senior engineers in analyses, designs, drawings, and specs for infrastructure projects and will coordinate with

Qualifications

• Registered as a Professional Engineer in California.
• Proficient in steel, masonry, timber and concrete (incl. precast and prestressed) design.
• Proficiency in Structural Analysis with SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, Midas or similar software.
• Strong background preparing bridge design calculations and plans per Caltrans Standards.
• Understanding of AASHTO, Caltrans, AREMA, CBC standards; HS Rail experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Uses knowledge of relevant structural engineering of transportation structures.
• Preparing design calculations, drawings, and details for various transportation projects.
• Design of new structures and rehabilitation of existing structures.
• Review of shop drawings produced by fabricators and detailers, calculations performed by other engineers, coordinate with design team, site visits to address site issues and verify existing conditions, respond to request for information, oversee testing and monitoring programs.
• Assist with client coordination including coordinating deliveries, submittals, meeting, review comments etc. Clients include public agencies and private clients.
• Working with other structural staff and departments to complete projects.
