Job summary

Stantec seeks a transportation Structural Engineer with 10+ years of experience in designing highway, transit and rail bridges across California. The role involves assisting senior engineers, developing designs and specifications for infrastructure projects in a full-time capacity across multiple CA locations.

Candidates should be licensed PE in CA, proficient in steel, masonry, timber and concrete design, and skilled in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge or Midas.

Qualifications

• Professional engineer license in CA is required.
• Proficiency in steel, masonry, timber and concrete design.
• Experience with SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, Midas is expected.
• Strong knowledge of Caltrans standards (AASHTO, CBC, AREMA).
• Caltrans High Speed Rail experience is a plus.
• Attention to detail and leadership skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Use knowledge of structural engineering of transportation structures.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, and details for transportation projects.
• Design new structures and rehabilitation of existing structures.
• Review shop drawings, calculations, coordinate with design team, site visits, address site issues, respond to RFIs, oversee testing and monitoring programs.
• Assist with client coordination including deliveries, submittals, meetings, review comments; clients include public and private agencies.
• Work with other structural staff and departments to complete projects.
