Job summary

Volkert, a Top design firm, is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager for the Gulf Region located in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. You will lead roadway design, traffic operations, and long-range planning for state DOTs and municipalities, while mentoring teams and ensuring project delivery.

Requirements include a PE license, a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering, and 10+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

BS/MS in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
PE license required or eligible for licensure.
10+ years of roadway design, traffic engineering, or transportation planning.
Experience with state DOTs and meeting schedules and budgets.
Strong knowledge of DOT design methods and standards.

Responsibilities

Lead transportation projects for state DOTs and municipalities, including roadway design and traffic analysis.
Serve as primary client contact with DOTs, municipalities, and stakeholders.
Manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing for project delivery.
Prepare contracts, change orders, and client approvals across project phases.
Oversee project financial performance: forecasting, invoicing, and AR.
Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations for clients and regulators.
Support submittals and bidding activities; ensure QA/QC processes.
