Volkert is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager for the Gulf Region (Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee). The role requires 10+ years in roadway design, traffic engineering, or transportation planning, with a PE license and a track record of managing multi-office projects.

You will lead projects for state DOTs and municipalities, oversee scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing, and mentor teams while supporting business development and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in roadway design, traffic engineering, and/or transportation planning.
• Experience working with state DOTs, with a proven ability to meet DOT standards, schedules, and budgets.
• Strong knowledge of DOT design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specifications, or of traffic engineering and transportation planning principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of transportation projects for state DOTs and local municipalities, including roadway design, plan review, traffic operations analysis, signal design, corridor studies, safety evaluations, and long-range planning.
• Serve as the primary client point of contact, building and maintaining relationships with DOTs, municipalities, and stakeholders.
• Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans to ensure successful delivery.
