Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a senior Program Manager in California to lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity.

You will advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community aspects, plan and monitor execution across disciplines, and ensure contract and QA/QC standards are met. The role requires experience with DB/PDB/CMAR delivery methods, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills for presentations to executives and large audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Sciences, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
• 3+ years program management experience as deputy to the Program Manager for programs with a cumulative capital value of $200M+; or 5+ years as Project Manager/Controls Manager for $200M+; or 10+ years PM directing multi-disciplinary teams for at least two $50M+ projects.
• Strong leadership with experience building a cohesive team culture across locations.
• Excellent communication; comfortable presenting to executives and large audiences.
• Experience with alternative delivery methods: DB, PDB, CMAR.
• Familiar with PMIS, CMIS, scheduling, cost control, document management, risk management, dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community facets to ensure program success.
• Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of program execution across multiple disciplines.
• Identify issues and risks early; provide strategic problem-solving and timely decisions.
• Develop and implement program management plans, startup plans, and work plans to drive efficiencies.
• Direct HDR and subconsultant teams; secure resources and ensure contract scope compliance; implement QA/QC.
• Monitor financial performance against targets and adjust to meet earnings goals.
• Mentor staff and grow HDR’s program management capabilities.
• Perform other duties as needed.
