Job summary

HDR is seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead the most complex transportation infrastructure programs. You will advise clients, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and guide program performance from planning through delivery. This role sits in HDR’s Transportation Leadership team and requires broad experience in capital projects and stakeholder engagement. HDR values diverse perspectives and client service excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Planning, Business Administration or a closely related field.
• Professional licenses: PE, PMP, PgMP, AICP or CCM per licensing board.
• 10+ years program management experience with at least 4 years as a Senior Program Manager on multiple programs with capital value of $500M+.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community facets to drive program success.
• Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of program execution across multiple disciplines.
• Identify risks and provide strategic advice to address challenges and opportunities.
• Develop and implement program management plans, startup plans, and work plans for efficiency and transparency.
• Direct services provided by large program teams or lead a mega-project.
• Promote team alignment through regular communications.
• Ensure contract compliance and secure required resources.
• Monitor financial performance against targets and control losses.
• Mentor and train staff and pursue opportunities for growth of PM services.
