Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Transportation Engineer in Illinois to join our multidisciplinary team delivering complex roadway projects. The candidate will perform detailed design, analysis, and engineering calculations for civil/transportation assignments while collaborating with local governments. Required: 10+ years of experience and a Civil Engineering degree.

IL PE license is required; PTOE is desirable. Hybrid/onsite collaboration and a strong focus on project delivery and client service are

Qualifications

• 10+ years of transportation engineering experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Illinois PE required; PTOE not required but desired.
• IDOT experience preferred; KDOT experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Design transportation infrastructure projects focusing on roadway and highway elements.
• Prepare and review project reports.
• Coordinate with Survey Department and schedule work.
• Complete work on schedule and within budgets.
• Plan and prepare transportation project plans and specifications.
• Occasional on-site construction observation.
