Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Transportation Engineer in Illinois to join our multidisciplinary team. The role involves detailed design, analysis, and engineering calculations for civil/transportation projects supporting state and local government clients.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of transportation engineering experience, a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, and an Illinois PE license. Proficiency with PowerGEOPAK and/or OpenRoads Designer is preferred; PTOE is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of transportation engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Illinois PE license required; PTOE preferred.
• Experience with roadway design and IDOT/KDOT projects.

Responsibilities

• Design complex transportation infrastructure with roadway emphasis.
• Prepare and review project reports.
• Coordinate with Survey Department on schedules.
• Deliver tasks on time and within budgets.
• Plan transportation project plans and specifications.
• Conduct periodic on-site construction observation.
