Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a full-time Transportation Engineer in Iowa to design and analyze transportation infrastructure for state and local government projects. The role focuses on detailed design, analysis, and engineering calculations for civil/transportation projects, with emphasis on roadway and highway elements.

Candidates should have 10+ years of experience, a Civil Engineering degree, and strong communication skills; Missouri or Iowa PE is required or PTOE preferred; experience with

Qualifications

• 10+ years of transportation engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Missouri or Iowa PE required. PTOE not required but desired.
• Experience with PowerGEOPAK and/or OpenRoads Designer preferred.
• MoDOT or IaDOT experience preferred, KDOT experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Design of complex transportation infrastructure projects, with a focus on roadway and highway elements.
• Prepare and review project reports.
• Communicates and schedules work with Survey Department.
• Completes work on schedule and within budgets.
• Plans and prepares transportation project plans and specifications.
• Periodic on-site construction observation.
