Job summary

Kleinfelder is hiring a Transportation Engineer in Iowa to work with state and local governments on transportation projects. The role emphasizes detailed design, analysis, and engineering calculations across civil/transportation domains.

The position requires strong communication and leadership, with potential for on-site construction observation and project planning support within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of transportation engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Missouri or Iowa PE required. PTOE not required but desired.
• Experience with PowerGEOPAK and/or OpenRoads Designer preferred.
• MoDOT or IaDOT experience preferred, KDOT experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Design of complex transportation infrastructure projects, with a focus on roadway and highway elements.
• Prepare and review project reports.
• Communicates and schedules work with Survey Department.
• Completes work on schedule and within budgets.
• Plans and prepares transportation project plans and specifications.
• Periodic on-site construction observation.
