Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company is seeking a Drainage Project Engineer in the Denver area with 8+ years of transportation drainage experience. The role involves design of stormwater drainage systems for transportation projects, hydrology/hydraulics analyses, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team in a hybrid Denver or Johnstown office.

The candidate will prepare drainage reports, assist with plan production, and mentor junior staff while cultivating relationships with Colorado Front Range

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of transportation drainage experience preferred.
• Colorado Professional Engineering (PE) License required (or obtain within 6 months of employment).
• History of progressive responsibility in transportation/roadway drainage design including planning and project delivery.
• Experience with design and plan production coordination related to transportation and drainage projects.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to manage budgets and schedules with staff utilization.
• Strong analytical, reasoning, problem solving and decision-making ability.
• Experience with FEMA requirements for CLOMR/LOMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydraulic and hydrology analyses and design for transportation projects.
• Prepare drainage reports per client and industry standards.
• Assist with plan production for drainage design and detention facilities.
• Contribute to project goals, coordinate resources, and monitor progress.
• Oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, studies, and cost estimates for drainage projects.
• Adhere to internal QC processes and project tracking.
• Cultivate relationships with Colorado Front Range clients.
• Lead strategic project pursuits for drainage projects.
• Develop and manage scopes, schedules and staff hours for drainage tasks.
• Support Colorado Division growth initiatives.
