Job summary

Benesch is a growing, multi‑discipline planning, engineering, and professional services firm. We are seeking a Transportation Drainage Project Engineer to design and analyze stormwater systems for transportation projects in the Denver area, contributing to a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, 8+ years in drainage, and a Colorado PE license or ability to obtain within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of transportation drainage experience preferred.
• Colorado Professional Engineer license required or obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Progressive responsibility in transportation/roadway drainage design.
• Experience with design and plan production coordination related to transportation and standalone drainage projects.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Track-record for adhering to design budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydraulic and hydrology analyses and design for transportation projects.
• Prepare drainage reports in conformance with client and industry standards.
• Assist with plan production related to drainage design, stormwater management and detention facilities, water quality/MS4, quantities and specifications.
• Contribute to project goals and milestones, coordinate resources, and monitor project progress.
• Oversee and assist in preparation of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, studies, reports, construction drawings/plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Adhere to internal procedures for quality control, documentation, and project tracking.
• Champion relationships with key clients in the Denver metro area and throughout Colorado.
• Contribute to other project work as a technical specialist or advisor as needed.
• Market potential clients in coordination with Division and Group leadership.
• Provide input into the growth of the practice and lead strategic project pursuits for drainage projects.
• Develop and manage scopes, schedules and staff hours for drainage related tasks and projects.
• Contribute to Colorado Division strategic growth initiatives.
