Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a seasoned civil construction leader to serve as the Owner’s professional representative on bridge and roadway construction projects. The role requires coordinating with inspectors, engineers, and managers to ensure work complies with contract documents and quality standards.

You will oversee construction engineering activities for roadways and bridges, lead project teams, manage contract administration, and ensure on-time delivery within budgets while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering and PE required.
• California-registered Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• 8+ years construction contract management experience on roadway/bridge projects.
• Knowledge of CALTRANS and local agency projects; coordination on federally funded projects desired.
• Able to effectively manage people.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Owner’s professional representative on bridge, roadway, and civil construction projects; ensure conformance with contract documents.
• Work with field inspectors and project team to meet civil construction goals.
• Perform construction engineering duties including roadways and bridges.
• Manage project quality control and quality assurance.
• Supervise staff and manage contract administration and project profitability.
• Review change orders, shop drawings, materials testing, and surveying activities.
• Conduct weekly project meetings and oversee utility coordination.
• Ensure compliance with EEO/labor requirements and prepare project documentation for QA.
