Job summary
Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to apply data-driven CI, engineering, and automation to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost across operations. The role interfaces with all levels of staff and reports to the Lead Engineer, CI Manager or Sr. CI Manager.
Required: Transportation experience, Power BI dashboards, Excel; preferred: Appian Direct Route or similar tools. Occasional travel supported.
Qualifications
- Transportation experience in transportation management, route optimization, and hours of service is required.
- Strong analytics mindset with experience maintaining Power BI dashboards.
- Proficiency in Excel and Power BI is required.
- Experience with Appian Direct Route or similar transportation modeling tools is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps and documents processes.
- Leads CI initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development.
- Develops competency in wide range of engineering methods, Lean tools, and quality standards.
- Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events; coaches on lean methods across teams.
- Reports progress to site objectives and provides supply chain strategy recommendations.
