Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to apply data-driven CI, Lean tools, and engineering methods across our operation.

You will collect data, perform analyses, map processes, and drive value through improvement plans. Interaction with management and frontline staff is essential as you implement Kaizen events, VSMs, and PDCA cycles to reach site goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5+ years in Transportation or Supply Chain industry.
• Transportation experience (Transportation Management, Dedicated, FTL, LTL).
• Microsoft Office Suite with Access, Excel and PowerPoint & Visio. Expert.
• PowerBI/Tableau data visualization and SQL/DAX programming (intermediate).
• Experience with Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S.
• Core engineering/data analysis: slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, metrics.
• Knowledge of Dedicated Services and Managed Transportation Networks; equipment types and tools.
• Lean Methodology and Supply Chain Certifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis and maps processes.
• Develops and manages CI plans to drive value for customers.
• Drives process improvements to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost; measures outcomes.
• Manages CI projects and go-live/steady-state certifications; supports automation.
• Coaches teams on CI/Lean principles and uses tools like Kaizen and VSM.
• Provides regular data-driven progress reports against site objectives.
