Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Continuous Improvement Engineer to apply data-driven CI, engineering, and lean methods across operations in Rhode Island. You will lead analytics-driven change, support automation projects, and mentor teams on lean principles to lift safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.

The role requires transportation experience, proficiency with Power BI and Excel, and familiarity with Appian Direct Route or similar tools. Travel is occasional as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain management, or related field.
• 5+ years in transportation or supply chain industry.
• Transportation experience necessary (TMS, dedicated, FTL, LTL).
• Expert in Microsoft Office with Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
• Data visualization (Power BI, Tableau) and SQL experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps and documents processes.
• Drive CI and engineering projects to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Develop and manage CI plans; support go-live and certifications; coach lean methods.
• Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against site objectives.
