Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to apply data-driven CI, engineering, and automation to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost across operations. You will leverage Power BI dashboards, Excel, and Lean tools to identify root causes and drive sustained improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5 years or more in related work experience in the Transportation or Supply Chain Industry.
• Transportation Experience Necessary (Transportation Management, Dedicated, FTL, LTL)
• Microsoft Office Suite skills with emphasis on Access, Excel and PowerPoint & Visio. Expert
• Data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) and database programming (SQL, DAX,etc.) Intermediate, Preferred
• Functional Experience in developing and managing: Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems and Management Accountability Systems, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S (Beginner)
• Understanding and experience in core engineering and data analysis functions (slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, metrics) (Intermediate, Required)
• Knowledge of Dedicated Services and Managed Transportation Networks; equipment types; JDA, Appian, OTM, Tableau/Power BI (Intermediate, Preferred)
• Lean Methodology (Preferred)
• Supply Chain Logistics Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps processes and identifies gaps; develops CI plans to drive value.
• Manages CI and steady-state engineering projects; supports go-live and certifications; identifies automation opportunities.
• Develops competency in engineering methods and coaches others in CI and Lean principles.
• Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events from ideation to sustainment.
• Provides regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against site objectives and makes recommendations.
