Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Continuous Improvement Engineer to apply data-driven CI and lean methods across operations, driving value in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

You will leverage analytics and engineering tools to identify root causes and enable sustained improvements. The role interfaces with employees at all levels, requires transportation domain experience and proficiency in Excel and Power BI, with Appian Direct Route as a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or related field.
• 5+ years in transportation or supply chain industries.
• Transportation experience necessary (Transportation Management, Dedicated, FTL, LTL).
• MS Office Suite with emphasis on Access, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio; expert in Excel.
• Data visualization (Power BI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX).
• Lean methods: PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S; strong problem solving.
• Knowledge of dedicated services and managed transportation networks; various equipment types.

Responsibilities

• Collects data, performs analysis, maps processes, and identifies gaps.
• Leads CI initiatives; supports go-live and steady-state certifications.
• Develops and executes improvement plans to raise safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
• Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events; coaches teams in lean methods.
• Reports progress to site leadership and supports supply chain strategy.
