Job summary

Cardinal Health's Transportation team moves products and services to deliver speed, reliability, and cost efficiency across 45 million shipments annually, coordinating inbound and outbound lanes for distribution centers and designing 3PL solutions.

The role leads a cross‑functional team, performs cost‑to‑serve and fleet analysis, models transportation networks, supports contract negotiations, and translates analytics into clear guidance for executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (required/preferred)
• 8+ years of experience in transportation analytics, network design, or data modeling
• Strong knowledge of domestic transportation modes, regulations, and warehousing operations
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau
• Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, including proficiency in statistical analysis, regression modeling, and optimization techniques
• Excellent business writing and communication skills for presenting data to technical and non-technical audiences
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of transportation executives overseeing day-to-day operations
• Identify opportunities to improve logistics capabilities and service for 3PL customers
• Optimize routing, location, and carrier strategies across the transportation team
• Design, implement, and maintain customer solutions delivering mutual value
• Conduct cost-to-serve and fleet equipment analysis to guide strategic decisions
• Support Account Management on regular business calls reviewing strategies and performance
• Lead transportation cost modeling and support customer contract negotiations
• Develop and operationalize new logistics capabilities through standardized processes
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Supply Chain Planning, Sales, Systems, and carriers to align initiatives
• Translate complex analytics into actionable insights for stakeholders and leaders
