Job summary

Leidos seeks a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to manage a dynamic team on high‑voltage transmission projects from 34.5 kV to 765 kV. You will serve as Lead Engineer and Technical Project Manager, applying NESC/ASCE/NEC standards and directing engineering analyses, modeling, and procurement processes.

The role emphasizes staff development, proposal leadership, scope management, and cross‑functional collaboration, with hybrid work options and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, preferred, or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of HV transmission experience.
• Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• EIT certification.
• Teamwork and ability to work independently.
• Strong communication as primary client contact.
• Business acumen with track record of meeting project metrics.
• Onsite work at Leidos or client offices; some travel may be required.
• Able to mentor staff and develop engineering talent.

Responsibilities

• Direct multiple design teams on high voltage transmission projects for utilities.
• Lead proposal development, scope creation, and project execution.
• Coordinate with clients, schedule, and budget to ensure outcomes.
• Develop staff through coaching and performance management.
• Leverage AI, automation, and digital design tools to improve efficiency.
• Ensure quality control and foster a positive team culture.
