Job summary

Leidos seeks a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to manage a senior team in designing high voltage electric transmission lines for major utilities. You will serve as Lead Engineer and Technical Project Manager on overhead and underground projects from 34.5 kV to 765 kV, applying standards such as NESC, ASCE, NEC, and others.

You will direct engineers in analyses, PLS-CADD modeling, foundation design, drafting plans, and procurement documents, while driving growth, proposal development, and staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years in high voltage transmission design.
• Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• EIT certification.
• Strong communication as primary client contact.
• Willingness to travel occasionally / onsite in Leidos or client offices.
• Ability to mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct multiple design teams across projects for several clients.
• Develop and train engineering staff.
• Oversee timesheets and annual performance reviews.
• Lead proposal responses and define scopes for new work.
• Drive process improvements through innovation and automation.
• Ensure schedule, budget, and scope adherence.
