Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to lead high‑voltage transmission projects up to 765kV. This role enhances project delivery through technical leadership, cross‑disciplinary coordination, and client engagement from a flexible work setup across the Southeast region.

You will mentor teams, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure QA/QC adherence while traveling to sites as needed. Richmond, VA area salary ranges reflect market demand for experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ of relevant post-education experience in engineering and civil design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required (multi-state preferred).
• Understanding of the NESC, RUS, and/or GO-95.
• Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation.
• The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
• Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for planning, design, and delivery of high‑voltage overhead transmission line projects.
• Lead and coordinate project engineering activities, including schedules and client interactions.
• Manage project teams of varying sizes and mentor staff.
• Develop project scope, schedule, and budget in collaboration with PMs.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed and standards are met.
• Travel to client offices/field facilities as needed.
