Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced transmission line engineer to design lines from 69 kV to 500 kV and to lead a small project team. You will collaborate with clients and vendors to specify components and ensure project success.

You will develop proposals and cost estimates, review ROW requirements, sag/tension, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• BS degree from ABET/CEAB accredited undergraduate program.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD to review transmission line models.
• 7+ years as a project team member on transmission line design including cost estimates, scheduling, procurement specs, and liaison with construction.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
• Analyze costs, develop design criteria, and plan routing and siting of transmission lines.
• Conduct conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction analyses.
• Coordinate with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components.
• Direct a small project team.
• Travel for site visits and client meetings.
• Develop proposals and cost estimates for new work.
