Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced transmission design professional to design lines from 69kV through 500kV, mentor the design team, and coordinate with clients to ensure compliance with specifications and standards. The role requires ABET-accredited BS, 12 years of experience, and proficiency in PLS-CADD.

The ideal candidate will review designs, prepare detailed calculations and reports, and adhere to the firm’s processes while advancing project outcomes and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 12 years of transmission design experience.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
• Experience preparing scopes of work, conceptual designs, design basis, equipment/material selection, calculations and specs.
• Experience with 69kV–500kV transmission lines and client interaction.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE, ANSI.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range.
• Mentor and train less experienced design team members.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specifications, codes, and client requirements.
• Prepare reports and studies that present technical information clearly and meet client and S&L formats.
• Perform independent reviews of work including calculations, drawings, and PLS-CADD models.
• Adhere to Sargent & Lundy's System of Processes.
