Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior transmission line engineer in the United States to design lines from 69kV to 500kV and mentor junior staff.

You will perform cost analyses, develop design criteria, and review right-of-way, conductor sag and construction documents while coordinating with clients and vendors. A bilingual Spanish/English professional with ABET-accredited degree and 7+ years of experience is preferred in this hybrid role.

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited engineering degree.
• 7+ years of project-based transmission line design experience.
• Experience with design codes such as NESC, IEC, IEEE, ANSI, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
• Bilingual Spanish and English.
• Ability to travel for site visits and client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines from 69kV to 500kV.
• Conduct cost analyses and develop design criteria, routing and siting.
• Review right of way requirements, conductor sag/tension, and construction documents.
• Lead a small project team and coordinate with vendors/clients.
• Develop proposals and cost estimates for new work.
