Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced transmission line engineer in the United States. The role focuses on design from 69kV to 500kV, cost analyses, routing, conductor selection, shielding and grounding, and coordination with vendors and clients.

You will lead a small project team and mentor junior staff. The position requires a BS from an ABET-accredited program, strong technical and communication skills, and familiarity with codes such as NESC, IEC, IEEE, and ASCE 7.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software and ability to review transmission line models.
• 5+ years of project team experience in transmission line design, cost estimates, schedules, and procurement specifications.
• Knowledge of right of way requirements, conductor sag/tension, plan and profile drawings.

Responsabilités

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
• Develop cost analyses and design criteria; routing and siting of lines.
• Conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction studies.
• Coordinate with vendors and clients to specify components; lead a small project team.
• Mentor junior staff and interface with clients and project teams.
• Travel occasionally for site visits and meetings; develop proposals and cost estimates.
