Job summary

Leidos Inc. in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team working on high‑voltage transmission projects. You will design overhead and underground lines, apply NESC/ASCE/ACI standards, and prepare bidding documents.

You will lead and mentor others, coordinate with clients and project teams, and contribute to proposal development. Some travel and hybrid work arrangements may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and minimum of four years of experience in design of electric utility transmission systems.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plans/profiles, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment but also independently.
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams.
• Leadership experience and supervision (required for Senior and SME).
• Work in client office is a possibility and/or periodic travel may be required.
• Program Expertise: PLS-CADD and POLE; Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Design HV and EHV overhead and underground transmission systems.
• Apply NESC, ASCE, ACI standards in engineering and design.
• Perform engineering analyses and prepare bidding documents.
• Draft plans, specifications, material procurement, and construction documents.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
