Job summary

Leidos Inc. seeks a Senior Transmission Line Engineer for electric utility transmission design projects. The role focuses on HV overhead and underground systems, applying NESC, ASCE, ACI, and related standards from 46kV to 345kV.

The engineer will develop bidding documents, plans, and procurement/construction packages, interfacing with a multi-disciplinary team and clients. Travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and minimum of four years of experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
• Ability to work effectively in team environment but also able to work independently
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed

Responsibilities

• Prepare design deliverables for HV overhead and underground transmission projects (46kV to 345 kV).
• Prepare bidding documents, drafts plans and specifications, and material procurement and construction documents.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
• Collaborate with Leidos team to support transmission line design efforts and project schedules.
