Job summary

Leidos is seeking a senior Lead Transmission Line Engineer to manage a fast-paced team and spearhead high voltage transmission projects from concept to completion. You will apply standards such as NESC, ASCE, NEC, and engage in discipline-wide design, modeling, and documentation while mentoring staff and growing the business.

You will direct multiple design teams, engage with major utilities, and contribute to technical strategy, proposals, and scope creation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience in design of high voltage electric utility transmission systems.
• Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• EIT certification required.
• Strong team collaboration and ability to work independently.
• Outstanding communication to serve as primary contact for clients.
• Business acumen with track record of meeting project metrics.
• Onsite work possible; travel may be required.
• Ability to mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct multiple design teams on projects for multiple clients.
• Develop and coach a team of engineers.
• Approve timesheets and manage annual performance reviews.
• Lead as a senior leader in the Transmission Line Section.
• Draft responses to RFPs/RFIs/RFQs and define scope of work.
• Foster innovation and automation to streamline processes.
• Recruit to support aggressive growth and manage workload.
• Oversee quality control across deliverables.
