Job summary

HDR is a global engineering, architecture and environmental firm seeking a Transmission EPC Principal to lead pursuit and delivery of high-voltage projects. The role involves coordinating with HDR’s global power delivery staff and construction partners to drive technical bid development, estimating and seamless transition from pursuit to execution.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical, civil or mechanical engineering and at least 10 years in transmission design, with

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Engineering License.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
10 years of experience in transmission design.
5 years of experience leading engineering teams on EPC projects.
Experience developing EPC design and construction packages.
Experience performing transmission line design up to 500kV.
Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

Serve as Pursuit Champion on Transmission EPC projects and transition to execution teams.
Drive risk analysis, preliminary routing and bill-of-material takeoff support.
Lead scope, schedule and budget development for AD projects with cross-functional teams.
Coordinate with land survey, geotech, GIS, environmental, and real estate staff.
Interface with contractors and subconsultants to discuss risk and mitigation.
