Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Charlotte, NC seeks a Lead Transmission Engineer to supervise a team of designers and engineers responsible for the development of transmission designs, cost estimates, and client communications.

You will manage staff performance and ensure adherence to quality standards and safety codes. The role requires ABET-accredited degree, PE licensure, 10+ years in power transmission design, and proficiency with PLS-CADD, MFAD, AutoCAD, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Active PE licensure.
• 10+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design.
• Ability to supervise a team of Engineers & Engineering Technicians while maintaining work product quality.
• Experience with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and other industry standards.
• Proficiency in industry software including PLS-CADD, MFAD, AutoCAD and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technical staff in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
• Manage schedules and assign technical staff projects and daily work.
• Mentor staff in technical engineering principles and safety codes.
• Coordinate internal/external reviews of designs completed prior to submissions.
• Maintain relationships with existing clients and seek opportunities with potential future clients.
