Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Lead Transmission Engineer to supervise a team of designers and engineers responsible for development of transmission designs, cost estimates, and client communications.

You will ensure design quality and regulatory compliance while guiding project execution. The role requires a Civil/Structural or Electrical degree from an ABET-accredited program, an active PE license, and 10+ years in power transmission design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Active PE licensure.
• 10+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design.
• Ability to supervise engineers and technicians while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Advanced knowledge of overhead and underground transmission facilities and their integration into daily activities.
• Experience with NESC, ASCE, IEEE and other industry standards.
• Proficiency in industry software including PLS-CADD and AutoCAD; MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technical staff in preparing utility designs and cost estimates.
• Manage schedules and assign projects and daily work.
• Mentor staff and enforce safety and company policies.
• Coordinate reviews of designs before submissions.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
• Develop and implement new policies reflecting best engineering practices.
• Collaborate with other departments on company-wide initiatives.
