Job summary

Stellantis is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to oversee transmission and driveline programs. This role supports the chief engineer in directing a team of project managers, application engineers, and design system engineers, collaborating across disciplines to meet program goals.

The ACE will coordinate with multiple stakeholders, drive cost and quality improvements, and lead technical reviews and risk management efforts to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of complex vehicle systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years engineering experience in product development design and release.
• Experience leading collaborative and global teams.
• Understanding of automotive manufacturing and quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed program deliverables and functional objectives (cost, timing, performance, CQI metrics).
• Oversee transmission project scope for a vehicle family (hardware, software, calibration, packaging, builds, validation).
• Interface with Vehicle & PT Integration, AME, Purchasing, EE Core, ePT, Controls, Calibration, Quality, Suppliers.
• Lead engineering teams to deliver prototype and production transmissions meeting requirements.
• Review and track System DVP&R and support component DVP&R development.
• Co-lead risk management tasks (DFMEAs, DFSS, LUR, Heat Map, Reliability Demonstration).
• Coordinate Trade off Studies and support Source Package planning.
• Lead program cost roll ups with manufacturing engineers & SCIE, and drive cost reductions.
