Job summary

The Chief Engineering Team at Stellantis NV in Auburn, AL is the single point technical contact for transmission and driveline products, driving current production, new product development and advanced projects. The ACE leads a team of FMs, AEs and DSEs to ensure timely, cost-effective solutions and robust system integration.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you’ll oversee core program performance, sign off on critical designs, coordinate with cross-functional groups, and ensure build readiness

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of engineering experience.
• Experience leading collaborative and global teams.
• Understanding of automotive manufacturing and quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for meeting or exceeding program deliverables and functional objectives (cost, timing, efficiency, performance, mass, NVH, and CQI, 3MIS, EPUS, JD Power quality metrics)
• Oversight of all aspects of the transmission project for a given vehicle family (hardware, software, calibration, packaging, builds, validation, ED&D, DVPR, Statement of Work, Design Change Requests, etc)
• Leads engineering teams to deliver prototype & production transmission solutions that meet vehicle / program requirements
• Tracks & leads resolution of all eCIMS/GIMs
• Leads program cost roll ups (i.e. piece cost, tooling, ED&D) with manufacturing engineers & SCIE
• Represents chief organization in high level meetings as needed (Steering Committees, PRs, MRs, IH mtgs, PC-prep mtgs, VIT mtgs, etc)
• Build readiness tasks (build fixtures, test fixtures, dyno support)
• Leads the technical reviews/evaluations and technical specification sign-offs. (Design Reviews), including EDP (Engineering development Process) deliverables and LRF.
• Leads the technical responses to investigate/action bulletins that relate to the technology.
• Coordination of Technical Cost Reductions (TCRs) and Benchmarking of RWD hybrid competitive transmissions
