Job summary

Think Power Solutions in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Transmission Construction Representative to oversee contractor performance on electric transmission projects. You will ensure safety, quality, and compliance with design specs across substation upgrades and new substations.

The role requires 6+ years in transmission line/substation work, strong leadership, and excellent communication. Travel may be required; valid US work eligibility and driver's license are needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CM or engineering preferred.
• 6+ years of transmission line and substation experience required.
• Experience in utility industry preferred.
• Compliance management experience a plus.
• Proficient with computer, iPad and MS Office products.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Oversee contractor performance on electric transmission projects and ensure compliance with contract terms.
• Monitor safe completion of work in line with design specs and safety standards.
• Manage projects including substation upgrades and new substations.
• Identify issues that could affect timelines, quality, or safety and resolve them.
• Apply knowledge of line, substation, and civil construction requirements across transmission and distribution.
• Interpret engineering drawings and guide their application in construction.
• Ensure compliance with Owner construction standards and safety terms.
• Perform duties independently while demonstrating leadership and expertise.
• Mentor and train junior Transmission Construction Representatives.
