Job summary

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. seeks a technical lead to support customer solutions and translate requirements into integrated offerings. You will coordinate with MELCO teams and subcontractors, review specifications, and help shape bid proposals and technical scoping.

The role involves presenting at industry events, developing sales aids, and supporting the Sales Department while promoting the Transportation Systems Division’s image.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of experience in sales support in the transit industry or related fields, or equivalent education and experience.
• Knowledge of transit industry product lines.
• Advanced written communications skills.
• Interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with diverse customer and supplier groups.
• Ability to negotiate terms and conditions with customers.
• Ability to analyze technical products and market needs to inform product roadmaps.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and related materials.

Responsibilities

• Interface with MELCO management, Marketing, QA, Procurement, Operations, Field Service, Programs, and Engineering to support technical proposals.
• Prepare and submit technical proposals for transit system products and services in response to inquiries, bid requests, RFPs, and RFQs.
• Review customer specs and bid docs to develop compliant proposals and clarify requirements with customers as needed.
• Coordinate internal bid review processes and prepare bid review presentations and documentation.
• Engage with MELCO engineering and subcontractors for technical responses to specs.
• Assist in clarifying technical aspects of proposals for customers as part of the solution.
• Help Sales develop initial technical scopes for solutions or product configurations.
• Represent MEPPI at industry conferences, trade shows, and technical forums; deliver presentations and promote solutions.
• Develop and update sales aids and customer presentation material.
• Support the Sales Department as needed.
• Promote a positive, professional image of Transportation Systems Division in dealings with customers, vendors and internal departments.
