Job summary

Cox Fleet is actively seeking a Sr. Shop Trailer Mechanic for an on-site shop role. The technician will perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and various repairs, including aluminum work, trailer brakes, air lines, pumps, liftgates, welding, and fabrication.

The position emphasizes advanced diagnostics, triage, and acting as a lead on-site. Strong adherence to safety and company policies is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3–5 years' related experience; or 7 years' related field experience.
• Possess a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on light, medium and heavy-duty trailers.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and battery checks.
• Diagnose and repair trailer components, including brakes, air lines, and liftgates.
• Document work performed and parts used in Repair Orders or Karmak systems.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the shop and comply with all regulations.
