Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr. Shop Trailer Mechanic to perform certified DOT inspections, PMs, and advanced repairs in a dedicated on-site shop. The role requires strong diagnostic skills, knowledge of trailer systems, and the ability to lead jobsites for customers and technicians.

Responsibilities include parts coordination, maintaining safety standards, and high productivity. ASE certifications and CDL‑A are highly valued; the company offers competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years related field experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• Candidates must be at least 21 years old due to interstate regulations.
• ASE T8, ASE 608/609 certifications and CDL-A license are preferred/required.
• Must supply a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and scheduled maintenance on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles.
• Diagnose, repair, and triage complex trailer systems and components.
• Order parts and coordinate with service writers for estimates.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety protocols.
• Document work in RO system and upload photos of work performed.
• Lead on-site relationships with customers and guide junior technicians.
