Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Sr. Shop Trailer Mechanic for on-site work. The role focuses on certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced trailer repairs.

You’ll act as the lead on jobsites, troubleshoot complex issues, and coordinate with the service team to ensure timely, safe service. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in related field work, ASE/DMV certifications preferred, and the ability to work within standard repair times while maintaining high quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related field experience.
• DOT compliance knowledge and inspections experience.
• Experience diagnosing complex trailer systems and components.

Responsibilities

• Perform certified DOT inspections and PM checks on trailers.
• Lead on jobsites, assist Technician I/II with diagnostics.
• Document work, parts, and RO details in the system.
• Maintain safety standards and adherence to company policies.
• Coordinate with service writers to obtain approvals and PO numbers.
