Job summary

CoxFleet is hiring a Sr Shop Trailer Mechanic for an on-site shop position. You will perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced trailer repairs, while leading on jobsites and coordinating with service writers. Expect high diagnostics workload and strict adherence to safety and company policies.

The role emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and adherence to DOT and environmental regulations, with opportunities for growth and certification support.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; ASE certifications preferred.
Experience with DOT inspections and PMs.
Ability to diagnose and triage complex trailer repairs.
Strong safety and compliance mindset.

Responsibilities

Perform certified DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on trailer equipment.
Independently determine parts required and coordinate with Parts Dept.
Maintain clean, safe work area and document work on Repair Orders.
Perform advanced diagnostics and triage on complex repairs.
Coordinate with Service Writer to assess customer needs and approvals.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT policies.
