Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr Shop Trailer Mechanic for an on-site shop role. You will perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced trailer repairs, including welding and fabrication. The position requires adherence to safety standards and accurate documentation of work performed.

Lead on jobsites, triage complex repairs, and maintain high productivity while following company policies. Strong diagnostics and parts coordination are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required; related discipline acceptable with experience.
DOT/FMCSA and safety training may be required.
ASE/CDL certifications preferred or required within 18 months.

Responsibilities

Perform DOT inspections and PMs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a shop setting.
Diagnose, repair, and fabricate trailer components and systems as needed.
Maintain safety practices and document work in Repair Orders or Karmak.
Order parts, coordinate with Shop Parts Department and Service Writer.
Lead on-site at jobsites and ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with policies.
Ensure timely completion of repair estimates and RO documentation.
