Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Sr. Shop Trailer Mechanic for an on-site, dedicated role. You will perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and a range of trailer repairs, including brakes, air lines, pumps, and welding. You’ll be a lead on site, guiding diagnostics and ensuring high-quality workmanship.

Requirements include a HS diploma, 5+ years in related field, DOT compliance, CDL-A, and ASE certifications. On-site, day shift with strong benefits and paid training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years related field experience, or equivalent.
• DOT/FMCSA compliance and ability to pass DOT physical.
• CDL-A license required.
• ASE T8 (PMI) and ASE 608/609 certifications (within 18 months).
• Proficiency with Karmak and shop tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform certified DOT inspections and PM inspections.
• Repair light, medium, and heavy trailers and related systems.
• Diagnose, triage, and repair complex trailer issues.
• Maintain safety and quality on-site; document work and upload records.
• Coordinate with service writer and parts to obtain correct items.
