Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a senior traffic/transportation engineer to lead multi‑modal roadway design, traffic analysis, and project management in a dynamic environment. You will mentor staff, manage budgets, and maintain strong client relations with municipalities and regional agencies.

Candidates should have a PE license in Massachusetts (or reciprocity within a year) and expertise in Synchro and Vissim. A PTOE certification is a plus, and a high level of communication is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering with 8+ years in traffic/transportation engineering.
• Licensed in Massachusetts or reciprocity within one year; PTOE certification a plus.
• Strong knowledge of traffic study standards and agency submission processes.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and client relations.

Responsibilities

• Lead studies, design, and bid document preparation for roadway projects with multi‑modal needs.
• Provide technical direction on traffic modeling, signal design, and plans.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, and client communications.
• Represent the firm at meetings with clients and public audiences.
• Mentor staff, manage workloads, and resolve project issues.
• Develop scopes and budgets for proposals and contracts.
• Maintain client relationships with municipalities and regional agencies.
• Expand opportunities by building new client relations.
