Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Project Manager to lead traffic and transportation projects in Massachusetts. You will supervise studies, direct design work, and mentor staff while ensuring budgets, deadlines, and client expectations are met.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in traffic engineering, MA PE or reciprocity within a year, and expertise in Synchro/PTV Vissim. This role offers opportunities for growth within a nationwide firm and a strong project portfolio.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in traffic/transportation engineering with models, studies, design.
• Knowledge of MassDOT standards and submission processes.
• Professional Engineer license in Massachusetts or ability to reciprocity within 1 year.
• PTOE certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the preparation of studies, design and construction bid documents for traffic-related transportation projects.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring for traffic analysis models and signal design.
• Maintain oversight of project financials, budgets, schedules, and progress.
• Present effectively at meetings with clients and the public.
• Manage/mentor staff, assign workloads, and resolve issues.
• Prepare project scopes and budgets for proposals and contracts.
• Maintain communication with clients including municipalities and regional agencies.
• Build and maintain client relationships to generate project opportunities.
