Job summary

Consor is seeking a Traffic Engineering Professional Engineer to lead planning, analysis, design, and delivery of traffic engineering elements for complex projects. You will act as a technical resource, apply advanced principles, and mentor junior staff while ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering.
• 4–10+ years of directly related traffic engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ORD and traffic analysis/simulation software such as Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, or similar tools.
• Proficiency with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of traffic engineering design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
• Design and oversee traffic control systems including signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting, and work zone traffic control.
• Perform and review traffic engineering calculations, modeling, and analyses to ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Coordinate and integrate traffic design activities across multidisciplinary teams; mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Support project engineers and managers with quality control reviews, schedule tracking, and risk management of traffic-related deliverables.
• Support and interpret intersection, corridor, and multimodal studies as they relate to design and construction plans.
• Prepare engineer’s opinions of probable construction cost (OPCC) and participate in agency/public meetings as the traffic engineering representative.
