Job summary

Consor is seeking a Traffic Engineering Professional Engineer to lead planning, analysis, design, and delivery of traffic engineering for complex transportation projects. You will guide technical teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor junior staff while delivering high-quality work on schedule and within budget.

You will collaborate with project managers, roadway designers, and public agencies, preparing cost estimates and supporting business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Transportation.
• 4–10+ years of traffic engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ORD and traffic analysis software.
• Proficiency with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of traffic engineering design plans and cost estimates.
• Design and oversee traffic control systems including signals, signing, and pavement markings.
• Perform traffic calculations, modeling and analyses to standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities and mentor junior staff.
• Support quality control, scheduling, risk management, and deliverables.
• Support and interpret traffic studies related to design and construction plans.
• Prepare opinions of probable construction cost and participate in meetings.
