Job summary

Consor seeks a Traffic Engineering Professional Engineer to lead planning, analysis, and design of complex transportation projects. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and mentor junior staff while advancing our traffic engineering capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering.
• 4–10+ years of directly related traffic engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ORD and traffic analysis software (Synchro, VISSIM, HCS or similar).
• Proficiency with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of traffic engineering design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
• Design and oversee traffic control systems including signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting, and work zone traffic control.
• Perform and review traffic engineering calculations, modeling, and analyses, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Coordinate and integrate traffic design activities across multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
• Support project engineers and managers with quality control, schedule tracking, risk management, and coordination of traffic-related deliverables.
• Support and interpret intersection, corridor, and multimodal studies as they relate to design implementation and final construction plans.
• Prepare engineer’s opinions of probable construction cost (OPCC) and participate in agency and public meetings.
